Description
The Department of Health and Human Services will bring together health professionals and researchers to talk about best practices and new research on delivering quality care to active duty and veteran women, particularly in traditional clinical settings. Hero Dogs is honored to have been invited to be a presenter (4:00 PM) and to serve as a panelist for topics regarding social support for women.
At the National Meeting on Active Duty and Veteran Women’s Health, they will:
- Discuss major physical and mental health needs;
- Identify and explain disparities in healthcare delivery and explore the current targeted research studies;
- Communicate best practices for care;
- Showcase innovative tools that providers can use to improve health services; and,
- Discuss existing social support and referrals around mental health conditions and substance abuse.
This meeting is hosted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health in partnership with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Department of Defense.
